Tighter access control

A round of work making sure a record can only ever be reached by the organisation it belongs to.

Fridgedoor holds several organisations' customer records in one system. The guarantee that matters more than any feature is that yours are reachable only by you.

This release is a systematic pass over that guarantee. Locations, users, permissions, customer records and message history are each scoped to the calling organisation on every route that reaches them, and a caller with no organisation is refused rather than given a partial view.

We are describing the outcome rather than the detail, deliberately. What is worth you knowing is that it was reviewed route by route rather than fixed where it was noticed.

### Inbound email is cleaned before it is shown

Anyone can email you, and an email is a document written by someone you have no control over. Inbound content is cleaned before it is displayed, so a message from outside cannot carry anything active into your queue.

### Two repairs

The spam check on the public forms had stopped working — the service behind it had been retired — so the forms had been unprotected. It has been replaced.

Links from retired tracking addresses resolve again instead of dead-ending, and now only ever to an ordinary web address.

  • Locations, users, permissions, customers and message history are each scoped to your own organisation.
  • Inbound email content is cleaned before it is displayed.
  • Long lists across the console return quickly on accounts with years of history.
