SMS and email templates, rebuilt

Both template libraries on the new console, with every existing template carried across untouched.

Templates are where the wording lives, and most accounts have years of them. Rebuilding the editor is straightforward. Rebuilding it without asking anyone to re-create what they already had is the actual work.

Nothing had to be rebuilt by hand. A template authored in the old editor opens in the new one and sends exactly as it did, including its theme colours and its link styling — the two things most likely to be quietly lost in a conversion and least likely to be noticed until a customer sees it.

### The unsubscribe link

The unsubscribe link at the foot of an email had become hard to read against some backgrounds. That is a compliance problem as much as a design one: an unsubscribe link that a recipient cannot find is an unsubscribe link that does not work, and the next thing that happens is a spam complaint against your sending domain rather than an unsubscribe.

### Roles

Access to SMS templates now follows a person's role, so someone who should be able to see them can.

new

  • The SMS template list and editor, rebuilt to the approved design.

improved

fixed

  • The unsubscribe link at the foot of an email is legible again.
